Marlon "Jay" Satterfield is a Master Barber/Entrepreneur who was born on August 24th, 1988 in Memphis, Tennessee. Raised by his single mother and his grandmother, he began cutting hair in 2006, his senior year of high school, because he and his brother couldn't afford to go to the barber shop. A few short years later, Marlon was working numerous jobs and going to college to receive an Associate's and Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, while barbering had became a side hustle.

In 2015, after realizing he was not completely fulfilled and reaching his full potential, Marlon began to  put all of his effort into barbering. While working a warehouse job, attending barber school part-time, and barbering on the side to build a clientele, he discovered his brand, "The Fade Genius."

Today, he is married with two beautiful kids and living the best life he could imagine. He has a successful barber business and is known to be one of the best barbers in his city.
